This operation marks the start of a modernization program covering all <strong>22<\/strong> of the airline&#8217;s <strong>Embraer 195-E2s<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>As part of this upgrade, each aircraft will be equipped with <strong>four additional Economy class seats<\/strong>, bringing total capacity to 136 passengers.<\/p>\n<h2>More capacity and a smaller carbon footprint<\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to this new cabin configuration, KLM Cityhopper will be able to carry more passengers and optimize revenues. At the same time, <strong>CO\u2082<\/strong> emissions <strong>per passenger are 3% lower<\/strong> than with the previous Embraer 195-E2 configuration. <\/p>\n<p>This improvement is an interesting lever for companies concerned about the environmental performance of their business travel.<\/p>\n<h2>Gradual fleet modernization<\/h2>\n<p>All 22 aircraft will be modernized by <strong>June 2026<\/strong>. This will increase capacity from <strong>132 to 136 seats<\/strong> per aircraft. <\/p>\n<p>Aircraft currently stationed at Twente will also benefit from the new cabin configuration as soon as they return to service. The rate of conversion will involve upgrading<strong>one aircraft every five working days<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2>Lighter catering and fuel savings<\/h2>\n<p>The addition of seats is made possible by <strong>reducing the size of the on-board galley<\/strong> and optimizing its loading. This evolution reduces the weight of catering on each flight. <\/p>\n<p>KLM Cityhopper will roll out this new catering process across its entire fleet.
